Meet the teacher
Hello! My name is Samantha Ramsey and I am proud to introduce myself as one of the fourth grade teachers at Anna McDonald Elementary.
Let me share a few facts about myself:
This will be my third year at Anna McDonald and my third year teaching fourth grade. Previously, I taught a high-needs third grade class in Manito, Illinois, near Peoria.
I was born and raised in a small farm town near Rockford. Mendota, Illinois - famous for its annual Sweet Corn Festival - is where I grew up with my two younger brothers. Joe is going to college to be a radiologist and Jon is serving in the military.
I graduated from Illinois State University's honors program in 2012 after completing a year long student teaching internship. I am currently working toward my masters degree in Educational Technology Leadership.
I am a trained professional and care deeply about each and every one of my students. I am dedicated to providing every child in my classroom with the best education possible.
I am technology-obsessed and integrate a LOT of tech projects into my classroom curriculum.
My husband and I just recently married in June of 2014 on the beach in Mexico and then moved to Plainfield the following January . Below, you will find pictures of my 2 year old Dudley (albino) lab named Bailey! He has officially topped 100 pounds and takes up a good chunk of my heart, as well as a good chunk of my bed. He loves playing tag and taking long, LONG afternoon naps.
My favorite things are: McDonald's french fries, Diet Coke, Pinterest, hiking, writing, and books by Nicholas Sparks.
